About the Position:
Both Schwope Brothers and Rio are hiring for this position so we are searching for two Product Specialists, one per location, who have a love for the nursery industry, an analytical eye for detail, and are self-motivated high achievers.
This role offers a high degree of autonomy along with a strong support structure so if you are a hardworking problem solver who knows how to build strong relationships and loves to improve processes and practices, this would be a good opportunity for you.
Key Accountabilities:
Product Monitoring - Inspect all crops on a monthly basis for product readiness with inventory specialists and work with production coordinator to ensure any changes are implemented properly like ready date adjustments, trimming requests, IPM concerns, etc.
Availability Management - Ensure all crops are turned on when ready and show on the availability.
Review orders against the availability to make recommendations to Sales Manager about crops that are missing from the availability but are held on orders that don't seem to be shipping before the next crop is ready.
Create, export, proofread, and format the availability on a weekly basis.
Order Management - Manage orders for production and distribution brands to ensure that the proper amounts of crops are allocated to each order and are shipped within the season.
This also entails freeing up material from orders as needed to protect the availability and supply other customers.
Communication - Provide excellent communication with the brands to inform them of material that is ready and answer any sales inquiries.
Inform the brands of any potential specials they could run on material we are long on.
Work closely with the production manager to ensure that material is being shifted into appropriate sizes at the right time to supply production, distribution, and protect the availability.
Coordinate Brand Shipping - Arrange freight for outgoing production and distribution loads.
Maintain active record of where steel racks are located across the brands and arrange for freight to bring them back to Rio Verde Plantas in order to always maintain a healthy stockpile so we are able to ship liner orders at the proper times Essential Job Duties:
Communicate with the brands about their orders, upcoming crops, and their needs Create and protect the availability Inspect all crops on the farm and ensure they show available when ready Manage, ship, and inspect brand orders and manage steel rack inventory Learn the brands so you can proactively suggest the right material for them Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
